Thoughts, ideas, fascinations, motives, desires and personal and art history are blended, stirred, molded, and experimented with until they become a concept that becomes a plan to be worked out through the process of creating.
FIRSTLINE (in progress) PREPARATION PAINTING PROCESS
As what will be the idea begins to coagulate from the ether a first draft, writing, with quick thumbnail and loose sketches lays out the possibilities. I usually perform this part with ink and fine point felt tip pens in smallish smooth sketchbooks.
The "story" is further developed with pencil drawings and the placement of scenes worked out and arranged within panels, and the number of painting panels required is determined.
